If you are in the US Costco has the Nikon D3400 + 18-55mm + 70-300mm for $449 on black friday.

  • Nyarlathotep

Thank you for the Black Friday updates.

    and Happy Thanksgiving Peter!

    • Happy Thanksgiving!

  • Rhonbo

Buy a $1,000 gift card from Adorama and use it for your purchase then get a $100 gift card in a few weeks that does not expire so could be used any time including next years BF sales. One way to save another $100 plus any cash back from using your credit card.

    • yes, that is a good deal

      • Mark Medford

  • Ramon Crivelli

The offers with free grip will be last until Cyber Monday or will be extended more time?

    • I don’t think it will be extended. At least it wasn’t last year. I know what you are trying to do – get the Adorama gift card deal and use them to buy Nikon gear for an additional 10% off 🙂 I am thinking of doing the same.

      • Rhonbo

Gift card deal ended last night (Thursday). Now you get 5% cash back in 40 days after purchase. B&H had a short gift card as cash back but now back to 2% cash back. I think that is it until possibly Cyber Monday.

For those who might find a benchmark useful for their Black Friday purchases, I paid $1196 two years ago (Nov 2015) for the D7200 + 18-140mm combo. I was going to sell that lens once I bought the 16-80mm Nikkor, but after I fine tuned the 18-140mm it turned out to be a reasonably decent lens, so I kept it (although I haven’t really used it all that much).

    • Aldo

It is a good lens… When I’m asked which lens I recommend I always ask back : what are you trying to achieve? And then usually they say ‘better pictures’. Then I ask : What’s wrong with your current pictures or what would you improve? and 99 percent of the time I’m able to track their ‘bad’ pictures to user error or simply share the knowledge that gets them the result they want… without buying a new lens.

  • Carl Eberhart

Nothing here interests me, it’s too bad the 7200 is still so high…seems like Nikon are really milking that model to the last drop…was its final production run not many months ago ?

A fair price for the 7200 body only, is $580 grey market, and $650 USA model…price is still $100 too high.

  • Aldo

EU? For thanksgiving you guys should be thankful you didn’t come to America lol. Black Friday is for us poor souls stuck here.

    • AlexG

Haha. I wish i was “stuck” with such offers you getting.

      • Spy Black

You pay for it in other ways…

  • Photoman

nothing I need except the D850

    Hi Peter,

The BH Photo link for this item is errorneous:

    Nikon D7200 + 18-55mm + 70-300mm for $997

    • fixed, sorry about that:

      • HD10

De Nada. I had a bit of time and wanted to see what Nikon is offering at that price level.

  • HD10

I wish Nikon would release information on what the lens mount its mirrorless camera will use, and what the initial lenses will be. The lack of information here has kept me from taking advantage of the lens sale.

While I recently purchased a Nikkor 19mm PC for use with my D850, I hesitate to get the 24-70mm f/2.8E to replace my current “G” lenses until I am certain that these could also be used on the upcoming Nikon mirrorless.

In my mind, if Nikon releases the mirrorless with a new lens mount, this could only be due to wanting to make the mirrorless camera and lenses smaller and lighter even as an adapter will likely allow the use of F-mount lenses on Nikon’s mirrorless. As the current 24-70mm f/2.8E has grown even bigger and heavier than the “G” version, I would prefer getting a new smaller and lighter 24-70mm (even if it is f/4.0) for use with the Nikon mirrorless rather use an adapter with the 24-70mm f/2.8E.

    Happy day after Thanksgigiving
If you are a turkey and you are still alive

  • Rhonbo

Is this it, after Saturday no more Nikon deals? What about Cyber Monday?

    • Yes, I think the lens only and free grip deals will be gone.

  • Luboš

D750 with grip, super deal. 🙂

  • KnightPhoto

BTW the Canada ‘Share the Moment Holiday Sales Event’ is a good one as it is cash off on several bodies (rather than forcing a grip deal), and goes all the way from Nov 24 to January 11. Some good stuff in there…

  • Rhonbo

Looks like the Nikon deals have been extended thru Cyber Monday although it looks like the full kits ( lenses) are not part of the deal at B&H but are at Adorama last I checked. I still need a day or two to make up my mind on what I want to do. Can’t decide between a D500 or D750 or just wait until next year and get a few other things I need for now.

  • usa

Thanks, Peter. Finally going to replace the 70-200 I sold a year ago. $200 off at B&H plus 4% credit. My first FL lens.

    • This is what I did, got mine on Friday.

      • usa

And…. what do you think of your new beast?

        • Did not had a chance to use it, but it is one of my favorite lenses (the old model). I am sure the new version will be even better.

  • Scott M.

Bought a 14-24mm f2.8 lens through your link on Amazon. Happy Black Friday sale Peter!

    • Thanks! I appreciate it.

  • MonkeySpanner

Where are the days of the fire sales? I know those V3 1 bodies are not moving. When are they going to dump them? I see the kit is still going for somewhere in the neighborhood of $1100. I dont think anyone in their right mind would pay that. My price point for that is around $350.

  • yat

On BHphoto, there are two options for body only at $1,496.95.
    One with Body + Grip.
Other with Body + Grip + Mem Card + Watson Battery + Bag

What is advantage of option one when you get more stuff at same price with option 2?
May b dumb question but had been bothering me for some time

  • yat

How long d750 discount will be available?

    • Till the end of December.
