Not sure I can understand a reason behind changing the version number just to include support for new cameras? They could atleast introduce a 3rd number so 8.4.1 : 8 = Major release, 4 = Feature/bug updates, 1 = device support.

    • AR22

Its more than just the camera support:

      The Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® 5.4 update includes these enhancements:

      • Support for Lightroom mobile, a new service to access, organize, edit and share your images from mobile devices

      • Fixes for bugs introduced in earlier versions of Lightroom 5

      • Camera support for many new cameras, including the Fujifilm X-T1, Nikon D4s, and DJI Phantom quadcopter

      • frod

Indeed, and if you own one of the lenses that have been added it’s a huge update 🙂

        • Jorge

Any word if the Nikon 18-35 is included?

          • frod

it says so right in the article 🙂

            • Jorge

              Cool! Thanks. Just saw that.

Will give this LR mobile a go and see how it performs cross platforms. I could never get my photos in chronological order when exporting from PC to my ipad using ITunes. I even bought third party apps, but none could sort them out in chrono order and keep them in that order. Hopefully this will be the solution. And it’s FREE!

        • Ummm – you need to have a LR subscription at $9.99 mo after the first month so this isn’t free.

    • AM I Am

There you go. If Nikon names a camera D9300, complain, if Adobe numbers the latest revision of Lightroom 5.4, complain.
Why don’t you people just look at the new features and if they are helpful for your work, well and good, if not, move on? Geez.

      • Achim

fully agree! They could that thing “Lightroom super high 11.5” or – important are bug fixes and support for new bodies and lenses – and not the number!

  • Owen

Like it really, really matters Rob.

  • JamesX

Finally! I’ve been waiting for this for my D4S camera. Thanks admin!

  • Chris Pearson

Be interesting to see what the 24-105 OS lens profile does to my images.

    • AM I Am

If you didn’t get the things right in your camera, don’t expect miracles.

      • Chris Pearson

I’m not, it can’t correct a bad picture. More I often don’t notice how bad the defects are until I use the lens profile to correct them.

    • Jorge

How about the 18-35 G series Nikon?

      • Jorge

Self Answer: YES! It’s Finally In there.

  • max

it is not clear if LR 5.4 has support for Nikon V3 AND new PD zoom 10-30. where is a list of full supported cameras and lenses?

I need support to buy D4s, I wonder if Adobe will help?

  • AM I Am

Is this new Lightroom for iPad considered a different product than the regular Lightroom?
I wonder if, as member of the Photoshop Photography Program, I install Lightroom on my iPad, will that count as the second copy of Lightroom that I am entitled to install? Or, are they considered different products?

    • You can get the iPad version only with a cloud subscription:

  • Big AL

Is this release freely available to all LR5 owners? I bought the programme recently as a disc.

    • axlrosefan

It should be, if you have your LR registred with ID number. 😉 and all further updates too, all tha way to 5.9.99 if there will be

    • whisky

it’s only available to subscribers of the online subscription program.

      • I am not a cloud subscriber and was able to download it from the app store and login with my Adobe ID. Maybe after 30 days it will ask me to subscribe.

        • whisky

*Note: Adobe Lightroom mobile requires Adobe Lightroom 5 and any of the following plans:

•Creative Cloud – Photoshop Photography Program
•Creative Cloud Student and Teacher Edition
•Creative Cloud for teams complete plan

the adobe blogs confirm a free 30 day trial period.

    • I could login with my Adobe ID. You can download the app for free from the app store.

Screw the news about new Nikon Camera support. Fuji X-T1 Raw support baby!!

  • Vladimir

    NO TETHERING FOR D610 ??????

    • peterortphoto

That’s exactly what I was thinking. so disappointed

  • CMEckert

It used to be that when you converted a .NEF file to the Adobe .PGN, you lost all of the Nikon camera settings. Is that still the case?

  • Rhonbo

Anyone else notice that most (but not all) of their favicons are missing in Internet Explorer 11 after installing the LR 5.4 CC update?

  • Steve z

everything BUT the acr Mac link

  • ShaoLynx

    Lightroom Mobile.
I really like this possibility. And the integration between iPad and PC-version works really well. Sure it’ll improve further and more features will come (monitor calibration anyone?). But syncing foto’s with LR was never this easy… the potential is huge, methinks.

Lost Bridge support after the update. Anyone know how to get back to the 8.4 release candidate?

    • CS

Yup, My Nikon NEF files are now just icons of the images. Meta data gone. Don’t download this version!

      • CS

Sorry! Didn’t mean to hijack your post. Under a deadline, very frustrating! Sorry, I don’t know how to go back to the 8.4 release candidate. For the record, I’m using CS6 on a Mac.

        • Scott

Yeah, have a big shoot tomorrow, don’t need the workflow distraction.

          • CS

I switched to an older computer to get through my deadline. Although all I’m seeing are icons, I was able to right click on the NEF files and open them up that way in Photoshop. This sucks!

            • Scott

Don’t know how much you shot, but if you drag the whole take into PS, you can see the previews in Camera Raw. Problem is, every time you open one, you go right back to the beginning. Need to make notes on keepers and then start opening them. Hope they get it fixed soon!

  • NikonUser

Concerning Apple and Aperture RAW D4S ? Still waiting….waiting

  • Lumenatic

I am very excited about LR mobile but unfortunately I bought LR5 and CS6 as standalone versions. Not going to pay additional fees for a plan just to have LR mobile. Also the pricing is, well, strange ? 9,99 USD or 12,29 Euros (around 17 USD).
For me the model is not customer-friendly.

  • CS

No response or help from Adobe regarding Raw 8.4 update. Not on their Twitter account, forums or via email. What a mess!

  • CS

Just heard from Adobe via Twitter. They sent me a link to a new plugin and that new plugin works, Yippie!
