Nikon SB-400 Speedlight discontinued

The retail chain Mediamarkt in Germany currently has the Nikon SB-400 Speedlight listed as discontinued in their inventory system. In the past four years Nikon did update the SB-600 (with the SB-700) and SB-800 (updated twice already with the SB-900 and SB-910), but the SB-400 remained untouched since its introduction back in 2006. There is a very good chance that […]

Nikon D5100 next to be discontinued?

Few days ago Nikon Germany sent out an email to retailers stating that the Nikon D5100 is no longer available for order. The exact word used was “abkündigung” which translates to “discontinuation“. The D5100 was announced on April 5th, 2011. FYI: the D3100 was announced in August 2010 and was already replaced by the D3200 in April this […]

Nikon D7000 listed as discontinued on Amazon.de

The Nikon D7000 listing on amazon.de is marked as “discontinued by manufacturer“. I don’t know if this is a mistake or the first nail in the D7000 coffin.

The Nikon D700 is already listed as discontinued at B&H and is out of stock at Adorama and almost every other major US retailer (Samy’s, OneCall, Cameta, Abe’s). You may be able to find some D700 at Amazon from third party retailers. J&R indicates on their website that they have some on order, but I […]

Nikon D3x now officially discontinued

I already mentioned that Nikon D3x is out of production and today Nikon Japan officially listed the camera as discontinued. Obviously the D3x and its price tag of $7999 doesn’t make any sense after the D800 announcement.

Nikon D3x also discontinued?

The website f64.ro lists the Nikon D3x as “out of production”. They were also the first to mark the D3s as “out of production” back in December, 2011. Few months later the camera was listed as discontinued in Japan and the US. The Nikon D3x never dropped in price like the D700 and is still listed for $7,999.95.

Rumor: Nikon D700 discontinued in Canada

Update: all Canadian dealers received an email yesterday from Nikon that the D700 is discontinued as there is no stock nationwide. Nikon D700 was listed as discontinued in Japan over a month ago, probably because of the new battery regulations in Japan. In the US, the price of the D700 dropped by $500. The latest rumor I […]
