New $100 price drop on the Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary lens

Today Sigma reduced the price of their new Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary lens by $100 – the new price will be $699 (B&H Photo | Adorama | Amazon). The new Nikon ES-2 film digitizing adapter set for the D850 delayed until March 2018

Nikon Japan released an update that the new Nikon ES-2 film digitizing adapter set ($139.95) for the D850 will be delayed until mid-March, 2018. The adapter will let you scan film at 45.7MP:

“The ES-2 is a Film Digitizing Adapter that lets you easily convert your film images to digital. Taking advantage of the high-pixel count of the D850’s 45.7 MP, the Film Digitizing Adapter lets you convert both 35mm slides and negatives to digital files. Using a lens such as the AF-S Micro NIKKOR 60mm f/2.8G ED attached to the D850, the camera’s digitizing function automatically reverses the colors and stores them as JPEG images. This once time-consuming process involving a film scanner can be done much more quickly. For negative strips, use the FH-4 Strip Film Holder with the ES-2 and for slides, use the FH-5 Slide Mount Holder with the ES-2.” (Nikon)

The Nikon ES-2 film digitizing adapter is compatible only with the D850, for other cameras you can use the older Nikon ES-1 model.

Macphun released a new version of their Luminar 2018 photo editing software with added RAW support for the Nikon D850 DSLR camera.

Luminar 2018 is available for both Mac & PC. The latest version includes new filters powered by artificial intelligence, speed improvements, a dedicated RAW module, new intelligent Sun Rays filter, LUT support, real-time noise removal, new user interface, full support of layers, masks, blending modes and photo composites. A new DAM (Digital Asset Management) platform is coming in 2018.

Nikkor triple f/2.8 zoom lens set Nikon 100th anniversary edition now shipping

Foto Hans Keuzekamp in The Netherlands received their first Nikkor triple f/2.8 zoom lens set Nikon 100th anniversary edition. The set includes the popular “Holy Trinity” f/2.8 lenses in metallic gray finish. Each of the lenses has a printed 100th anniversary logo on the lens barrel. The set also includes a custom metal travel case and a plate engraved with the lens serial numbers. The US price of the set is $7,999.95 (pre-order: B&H | Adorama). For comparison: the three “regular” f/2.8 lenses currently cost $7,090.85 ($2,796.95 for the 70-200, $2,396.95 for the 24-70 and $1,896.95 for the 14-24).
