Nikon at the 2018 CP+ show

Since Nikon did not announce anything new for the CP+ show, many websites did not even cover the Nikon booth. Here is what I could find online:

7 more of the best Nikon tricks ever!

7 More Of The Best Nikon Tricks Ever!

Back in April 2017, I created a video entitled, “The 7 Best Nikon Tricks Ever” and it quickly became the most popular video I’ve ever uploaded. In fact, as of this writing, it’s closing in on the one million views mark. You can see that video here on NikonRumors.

The thing is, when I started thinking about tips and tricks for the first video, I ended up with far more than I could use. I was concerned that if I stuffed everything into a single video, watching it would become tedious. So, I decided to limit it to just seven tricks – but what remained were some pretty tempting leftovers.

Well, those extra tricks and tips have been patiently waiting to see the light of day, and with the popularity of the first video, I figured it was high time to set them loose.

So, in this new video, I demonstrate the next set of my “must know” tricks and tips for Nikon users. These are techniques and settings I use all the time, so I absolutely recommend that you give them a try and see if they make your photography more enjoyable.

As before, not every tip will apply to every Nikon camera – and none of these apply to the D3000 series (sorry, I wish they did, but those cameras simply don’t have a lot of customizations).

Wildlife Photography in Norway

Wildlife Photography in Norway

The freezing, cold wind hits my face and forces me to stop to adjust my facemask. I turn around and take a glance at the sled behind me. It’s heavily loaded with camera gear, tent, sleeping bag and food rations for about a week. I am in the mountains of Norway to photograph the amazing muskoxen and I want to take you behind the scene and share some of my favorite technics, my camera settings and some photos from this and previous trips with you (click pictures for larger view).

By Morten Hilmer (website | Instagram | Facebook)

I can still see the mountains towards the West but heavy clouds are approaching and they are now dangerously close. In a few hours the snow will arrive together with the wind, and then the now so peaceful landscape will turn into a whiteout of swirling powdery snow.

I still have more than three hours with the heavy pulk before I arrive at the location where I have seen the musk oxen in the previous years, and if I want the slightest chance to find the oxen, I need to get there before the storm kicks in.

Big Nikon KeyMission cameras price drop in Europe

As I reported a few days ago, the price of Nikon KeyMission cameras dropped in the UK (Amazon UK has not updated their pricing yet):

It seems that there is also a price drop in Germany. Media Markt and Saturn (which were exclusive partners at the launch of KeyMission) just lowered the prices by 50% for some models:

  • Nikon KeyMission 80: €149 (was 299€)
  • Nikon KeyMission 170: €199€ (was 399€)
  • Nikon KeyMission 360: €249€ (was 499€)

In the US only the Nikon KeyMission 170 is currently $53 (13%) off.
