DxOMark published their third part on best wide angle lenses for the Nikon D800 camera (see part 1 and part 2). As you would expect “normal” wide angle prime lenses performed better than ultra wide and zoom lenses. Here are the top rated lenses grouped by lens type:
The Nikon Repair Center in Taiwan repaired a Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8 lens ($1,769.00) that was dropped in the sea by… boiling it. After the staff dissembled the lens for investigation, they determined that the AF motor was damaged and needed to be replaced:

The van transporting the gear for the Dublin NPS roadshow was stolen on Saturday night near The Phoenix Park in Dublin, Ireland.
