I have always said that Thom Hogan is not a good source for upcoming products/specs/rumors (even though he wants to think otherwise), but his industry commentary is one of the best I have seen online. Go and read his article about Sony influencers, clickbait, and “the crowned king of footnotes” (spoiler: it’s Sony). Here is a quote from the article:

Here is a recap of all blog posts since the official Z9 announcement yesterday (more to come):

The Nikon Z9 and lenses pre-orders are now live at most online retailers:

The Nikkor Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S lens is also listed at B&H but pre-orders are not open yet.

Given the current global part shortage and shipping issues, I expect the Nikon z9 to be out of stock for a long time. Make sure you place a pre-order early even if you are still not sure if you need one – you can always cancel the pre-order later.

With the Z9 camera Nikon also announcer several new accessories:

Nikon EN-EL18d lithium-ion battery (10.8V, 3300mAh): Adorama | B&H | Camera Canada

In addition to the Z9 camera, 100-400mm, 24-120mm lenses, and FTZ II adapter, today Nikon also announced a new NX MobileAir smartphone app for uploading images taken with Nikon cameras (coming November 24) and NX Tether computer software for tethered shooting and remote camera control/adjustment (coming November 4).
Here is the video presentation of NX MobileAir and NX Tether (starting at the 32:28 mark) and additional information:
