In 1980, Nikon had a new SLR to unveil to the world, and the best possible arena to show it off in – the Olympic Games.

The camera was the third F-mount SLR Nikon unleashed upon the world, following 1959’s Nikon F and 1972’s F2. The F and F2 were the first Japanese SLRs to prise Leica and Contax rangefinders from the hands of professional photojournalists. They were tough and reliable and the lenses were exceptional. Sports snappers and war correspondents alike realised the F was a perfect tool in tough environments.

Just announced: new Meike 25mm f/1.8 manual focus APS-C mirrorless lens for Nikon Z-mount


Meike announced another manual focus mirrorless lens for Nikon Z-mount: 25mm f/1.8 (price: $75). This is an APS-C lens and it will be best suited for the Nikon Z50 camera. Meike already has several other lenses for Z-mount: 35mm f/1.4, 50mm f/1.2, 50mm f/1.7, and 85mm f/2.8. Meike lenses are sold at Adorama, Amazon and B&H Photo.

Nikon Coolpix P900 camera is now discontinued



The Nikon Coolpix P900 camera with 166x optical zoom and 332x digital zoom is now listed as discontinued at B&H and at WEX (Adorama already removed the listing). A few P900 cameras are still in stock at Amazon. The P900 is also listed as discontinued at the official Nikon Japan website.
