→ New Nikon Z6 III bracket and plate by Kirkphoto (see also the previously reported SmallRig option):

→ TopCine L plate for Nikon Z6III for $39.

→ The new LIT DUO 1 lightmeter for video/photo raised almost $800k on Kickstarter with another 9 days to go.

→ Topaz Labs released Photo AI version 3.1.0 with new Autopilot Suggestions and major quality improvements across the board. Topaz also made improvements to the speed of masking and preview rendering in the app. Additional information is available here.

→ In addition to Video AI Pro, Topaz also released a new Gigapixel PRO version for professionals with high-quality upscaling, commercial licensing, and CLI support. Additional information is available here.

→ Adobe released the July update for Photoshop that includes many new features, including a prompt AI image generator (additional information):

Interesting: currently available Nikon Nikkor Z-mount lenses vs. F-mount lenses

Here are some interesting and useless stats – a list of currently available Nikon Nikkor Z-mount lenses vs. F-mount lenses:

Adorama:

Nikkor Z-mount lenses: 42
Nikkor F-mount lenses: 40 (only 33 in stock)

B&H Photo:

Nikon USA:

Nikkor Z-mount lenses: 44
Nikkor F-mount lenses: 71 (not sure what is going on here – I guess they still list all discontinued F-mount lenses)

Nikon UK:

Nikkor Z-mount lenses: 43
Nikkor F-mount lenses: 39

Nikon Japan:

Nikkor Z-mount lenses: 43
Nikkor F-mount lenses: 36

The teleconverters could have caused some of the above discrepancies – some sites count them as lenses, and others don’t.

This is pretty much the end of F-mount. You are not going to see many F-mount products available for sale after 2024, especially in Europe, where all electronics will be required to have USB-C charging ports by the end of 2024:

Nikon is rumored to introduce huge instant rebates for high-end Nikon F-mount lenses (as much as $4,800 off)

I am not sure about the details yet, but Nikon is rumored to introduce huge instant rebates for high-end Nikon F-mount lenses. The new savings should include the existing PC lens, 300mm, 400mm, 500mm, 600mm, 800mm lenses, and a few other models. The rebates are rumored to be as high as $4,800 for the most expensive lenses.
