There is no Nikon Z9 camera shortage; the Z9II will most likely not come in 2026

Currently, there are no widespread Nikon Z9 stock shortages worldwide, and the camera is not out of stock at many major online retailers. Here is a quick AI report on the Z9 availability:

Japan

Stock can fluctuate daily, especially for a high-end flagship, and “low stock” at one seller doesn’t indicate a broader shortage. The Nikon Z9 will be available for sale long after the new Nikon Z9II is announced.

Regarding the Nikon Z9II, unfortunately, I do not have any good news. The latest rumors suggest that the Z9 replacement will not come before 2027 (we may get a development announcement earlier, but you won’t have one in your hands in 2026). If the Z9II timeline changes again, I will make another blog post.
