Here is some unconfirmed information on the upcoming Nikon ZR firmware update version 2.0 – take everything with a grain of salt:
“This update will include full-width 6K 120p 2.37:1 and 6K 60p OpenGate RAW recording, as well as a New RAW Codec: N-RAW Light Quality (53% the file size of N-RAW Normal). Additionally, R3D NE supports 3 N-RAW encoding options, allowing users to choose between R3D NE High Quality, R3D NE Normal, and R3D NE Light Quality.
This means that when recording Light Quality R3D NE 6K 120p 2.37:1 footage, the bitrate is only about 1,500 Mbps.The new firmware will also provide the ZR with new intelligent exposure and control tools; in the new OpenGate mode, the ZR supports the simultaneous display of 16:9 and 9:16 framing lines, and allows the 9:16 framing line to move horizontally as it tracks the subject in the frame, further enhancing the convenience of multi-aspect-ratio composition.”
