I think it is time for Nikon to announce something, anything


Nikon is asleep again. With only two new lenses announced this year (70-200mm f/2.8 and 24-105mm f/4-7.1), I think it is time for Nikon to push some new products. The slowdown is real and is already reflected in the latest financial report and camera shipment market share. Several announcements from other brands are happening in the second week of September before the 2026 IBC show in Amsterdam (September 11-14). This would be the perfect time for Nikon to announce the already teased Nikkor Z cine lens(es) and the Nikkor Z 120-300 f/2.8 TC VR S – the lens is already listed for pre-order at some stores in the Netherlands (see B&H Photo listing):
