Interesting: the just announced Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VC VXD G2 lens for Sony E-mount is “is developed, manufactured, and sold under the license agreement with Nikon Corporation”

The already leaked Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VC VXD G2 lens for Sony E-mount was just officially announced and if you take a look at the press release, the last sentence says:

“This product is developed, manufactured, and sold under the license agreement with Nikon Corporation.”

A Tamron lens for Sony E-mount developed with Nikon?

Update: Tamron updated their press release and removed the sentence.

Now this could be a typo, or maybe it has to do with the fact that just a few months after Nikon announced the Nikkor Z 70-180mm f/2.8 mirrorless lens based on the existing Tamron design E-mount, Tamron introduced a new version II (G2). What do you think?
