The German police is searching for a murder suspect who reportedly killed one woman and injured a second critically. The police released a picture of the man named Frank Naaß – he is a Nikon shooter and was apparently known in the local photo community as a semi-professional.

Several German media outlets reported on the story, including Spiegel. The english version of the story can be found here.

Thanks Matthias!

Just a small update on the story: the suspect was recognized by witnesses and arrested on late Friday evening (~ 11 p.m.) on the streets in Göttingen. The arrest was conducted by just two detectives in plain clothes because the main police force (including the SWAT teams) had been redirected to Hannover (about 100km north of Göttingen) after several witnesses had called in and claimed to have seen him there. The second victim succumbed her severe injuries in hospital.
