    Outdated already…

I’ll keep my D800, for some reason I prefer skip 100 at the time.
Anyway, I really need the GPS feature.

  • TheInfinityPoint

    lol? πŸ˜‰

In other news, we find out the photographer who took these photos did not use a flippy screen.

  • part one of a 101 uses for a D850

    • bonem

As I wait for mine. Ugh. Lol

  • Did my first studio shoot with my D850 tethered to the PC i usually use with my D810 and it kept hanging the camera while the PC caught up. I am using updated Nikon software so not sure what the hold up was. Had to disconnect in the end in order to get on with the shoot.

And it does 8k timelapses* of feet as a bonus!

*disclaimer: time lapses may be blured if the rear screen ramp is not anchored under the door to prevent vibration.

  • Tom Skully ONeill

What inspired the pointless stupidity of using this camera as a door stop..?

    • thundrrd

      Because the camera is broken.

    • Proto

This makes people waiting in line for d850 feel good about those who got one ahead of them (and are putting it to good use).

      • Nikkor300f4VR

That was my point also. This whole story is just soo sad.. πŸ™

  • it’s been a slow week, it’s Friday… and I feel lazy to do a serious post πŸ™‚

    • bonem

      (I appreciate the goofey post)

    • bonem

When those guys get a hold of one and smash it with a bat I’ll actually be sad and disturbed.

    • br0xibear

      Uh hem…XQD article, lol.

  • Kriss_De_Valnor

Oh dear jealous Canon user was trying to insult mighty Nikon D850?

  • Zatchmo

I’ve been using mine as a door stop since the 11th. It’s been pretty effective long-term.

  • Allan

Check out the picture of the gang on the bottom of their homepage. Scary.

  • Kenneth Solfjeld

Stavanger Foto normally use a Canon camera as doorstop. This must be som kind of publicity stunt. πŸ˜‰

  • i gotta try my two d850 on an elevator to see if could stop the auto door from closing.

  • Aldo

Outrageous!!! I can already see some scratches at the subatomic level…

  • Allan

Do those guys ever smile? What’s with the white coats and neckties? πŸ™‚

  • Pk Bullock

Is that a nikkor lens? does not look like one.

    • Allan

      18-140 DX.

      • Allan

Because the door wouldn’t stay open with just the lens, they added a camera body.

  • William Faucher

This is located at StavangerFoto. A pro photog from the region borrowed their only copy of the D850 and took it on a trip with him to Alaska, and accidentally drowned it. It’s broken, doesn’t work anymore. Thus being used as a doorstop.

  • Mark DL

    the most expensive one to

  • Ben Brayev

    that was funny

  • T.I.M

No battery grip, you can let in only 7 customers per second.

  • Ric of The LBC

but what about the DR at base ISO??????

  • Yu

    Definition of out-door camera?

  • Peter Postmus

See this is Nikon diversifying their business to stabilise their financial position.

  • Joe Prete

it’s a good inch or so, in front of the door!

  • Allan

With all that North Sea oil, each Norwegian should buy a D850 to help Nikon. πŸ™‚

(The Norwegian Oil Industry has made Norway one of the wealthiest countries in the world. The Norwegian Parliament has established a Government Pension Fund that on March 2015 reached impressive 6975 billion Norwegian Kroner, which is about US $ 883 billions.)

    • Nikkor300f4VR

Pity though, with money you can buy many things, but not brain.. Poor norwegians..

      • Allan

Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland spend some of the most money on education as a percentage of their gross domestic product, according to the World Bank. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development has said that levels of education funding do not necessarily affect academic performance, but these Scandinavian nations all ranked in the top quarter, generally outperforming Asian nations where students are pressured to perform well.

        • Nikkor300f4VR

I know, I have been working there for years..
Apart form I met lot of amazing people, and seen wonderful places, it was a bit dissappointing also..
It is not about education, I am talking about the reality, they are just soo blindly brainwashed big USA-fans in general, apart from the respectful and honourable exceptions.
Does not matter if they are rich, if they are brainwashed..
          That was my point.
P.S.: btw they are also not too happy about their “overpriced” life, believe me, I know..

          • Allan

            Thanks for the clarification.

  • Teko

So some idiot broke their company camera. And it becomes a story? What’s next?

  • Nikkor300f4VR

Yep, but not for the norwegian salary level.. πŸ™‚

  • TwoStrayCats

A big, ole, Hasselblad 500CM with a 140-280 will do much better as a solid door stop.
