  • No idea what it means

    • Nikon King

It means if you answer yes, you’ll be spammed to high hell by the website anytime they post content.

      • not really, a notification will be posted only when there is a new post – no more, no less

        • Nikon King

It can get quickly get out of hand if you do it for this site, facebook, petapixel, or other sites.

          • That is true, I have only a few sites enabled for push notifications.

      • Thanks, then it is a NO for/from me then

You could have say that 10 years ago, but now even Mc Donalds have internet!

    • Actually, McDonald’s was one of the first. Those near me had it 10+ years ago. The dry cleaners just got it. though.

    • I don’t eat at Mc Donald’s:)

      • AlphaT

        How about Starbucks?

        • Ah starbucks another of those companies who use every means at their disposal to AVOID paying TAX in the UK, do not use them

  • TwoStrayCats

So that’s what the little bell is for. I thought it was to make a phone call while browsing the site.

When Sony buys Nikon, will Sony also buy out NR? lol.

    • Delmar Mineard Jr

      Oh know….that can’t and won’t happen!

      • sickheadache

They going to pay us in a new kind of dollar..Million Dollar.

      • “KNOW” ???? or Oh “no”

    • T.I.M

When Sony will buy Nikon: “free headphone with a DSLR purchase!”

      • sickheadache

I use Sennheiser…sort of sounds like Sony..when Drunk.

    • If Sony buys Nikon, I am shutting down this website and moving to Canon 🙂

      • T.I.M

I dare you, that would make T.I.M out of job.

      • sickheadache

  • Delmar Mineard Jr

    Great job…very nice Peter.

Most annoying feature ever to be added to the browser. I only accidentally added one push notification and learned my lesson. We have enough spam without websites doing this.

    • I actually like the feature. I agree that it can become annoying, this is why I only enable notifications for the sites most critical to my day like Nikon Rumors.

    • very simple – don’t add it then

      • Nikon King

I can not add it and also voice my opinion. Nothing personal amigo. A lot of people accidentally add these because they are not paying attention and it pops up and they hit yes. That’s what I’m trying to warn them about. I mean, you want honest clicks to your site and not forced ones don’t you?

        • Sure, I just wanted to make sure readers understand that this is optional.

    • T.I.M

      I had the same experience.

    • almost 14,000 readers have already subscribed to the push notifications:

  • Paul Willy Brown

Took a while but I finally got all the various push messages from a couple dozen sources shut off. Don’t remember asking for any of them.

  • You do understand that you cannot get those notifications unless you subscribe to them and confirm the message from your browser?

    • Paul Willy Brown

that’s the way it is supposed to work, with Chrome, not so much

  • Captain Insane-O

Not your fault, but this is quite necessary now that Nikon information has plummeted. I use to check this site every day for new info, but Nikon has released diddly squat.

How much traffic, if any, have you lost.

  • DonSleza4e

I just logged in to say – this is a great feature. I tired to visit various rumor sites each hour or two. It’s really handy to get instant notifications on each new post!

  • Ray Osuna

Noooo! I get asked if I want push notifications every time I come to the website. It’s very annoying.

    • no, you get asked only once

      • Ray Osuna

        Not true
