New server and HTTPS for NikonRumors was just moved to a new server at HostDuplex. The old server could no longer handle the traffic and an upgrade was necessary. You probably already noticed that NikonRumors is now a “secure” website (HTTPS) which is the industry’s standard today:

Several other changes were also introduced on the back end that should improve the speed of the blog. The comments sync is still ongoing and may take a few more hours. If you see any strange behavior, please add a comment to this post and I will look into it.

PhotoRumors, LeicaRumors and PentaxRumors are also now “secure” websites. FujiAddict will be converted next, followed by SonyAddict and 43addict.

Yea, you need a super server to handle the traffic when D820 announced. Millions of whiners gonna attack 🙂

    • Yes, preparing already:

      • silmasan

How about ‘parking’ pages while they’re available? D830, D840, D860, D870, D880, D890. Also, a version of “D850” too (I see a few that link to other websites).

        • Yes, it seems that this is the new trend now… I will stay with only the D820 for now. I can always change the name later.

      • Spy Black

I assume you got my email, but the original comments on the Nikon Museum thread are gone. You can still see them on Disqus.

        • Yes, they are still syncing. We have over 470,000 comments.

The D820/850/900 will be so perfect that all comments will be resumed to:

Lot’s o’ waiting folks will chime in as well!

  • Pippo

Sony article has 296 responses, but I see 2 comments. Wait for full list 🙂

I think the disqus is dealt with by a different services and isn’t hosted on the sites server

      • Eric Calabros

Or maybe disqus employed an algorithm for filtering doomsday comments 🙂

    • Allan

      I have the same problem.

    • Yes, the comments are still syncing – it will take some time. We have over 470,000 comments…

  • T.I.M

    no Canon rumors ?

  • Nikon King

Maybe Nikon needs an https server to keep rumors from getting out 😉

    • Spy Black

Then there would no reason to come here…

    • ninpou_kobanashi

You can still use Charles (MITM)

I want this post to be this month’s top 10 posts! Can we make it? LoL

  • Bob Thane

Honda is taking McLaren reliability to a whole new level this year.

Congrats Peter on the new server. I hope it brings some ease to the management.

I still wish you could find a way to allow Google logins for the forums.

    • Thanks, I just know that the hosting pricing went up, we will have see how it will perform for the D820 announcement 🙂

      • br0xibear

It”l be fine for the D820…the baby D5 might be a different story though, lol.

        • KnightPhoto

I didn’t think anyone besides me was interested in the baby-D5?

          • I am 🙂

          • br0xibear

I think there’s a lot of people who are interested in a D810/D500 type body with the D5 sensor inside… just as they were with the D300 replacement the D500.

  • Allan

Is a new server as exciting as a new camera?

  • MichaelSNC

Thanks for all you do for us.

    • Thanks for being a reader!

Pretty tough for a high res sensor to do ‘full sensor’ 4K, will be interesting to see how they handle it 😉 And whether they can approach Panasonic GH-5 video specs, love to see them try, but smaller sensors have an advantage!

If one has some UWA DX lenses laying around that can be a good solution for lenses to use on crop-4K video modes.

i would love to see an article about the server specs.
