Nikon repair parts shortage

Nikon-Repair-service
Just when you think it will not get any worse for Nikon, it does. I received multiple reports from readers on Nikon having shortage on many repair parts. There are also plenty of similar discussions on dpreview (another case), other forums and social media:

It seems that the shortage is mainly for older cameras and lenses, like for example the Nikon F6:

“Nikon is still selling the F6. It comes with a three year warranty. It turns out that the Nikon service center has no parts for repairs, nor will service any F6 cameras. It is unclear if this is also true in Japan, but their service center has made it clear that they will only service Japanese versions of the camera. So what does this mean if you have a warranty that is valid?? Some of us still like FILM. In fact, some of us love film, and for good reasons.” (email from a reader)
