Coming soon: 70 Million Nikkor lenses produced

Nikon will soon mark their 70 million Nikkor lenses milestone. It took Nikon 6 months to produce 5 Million lenses in 2011 (65 Million lenses were announced in October 2011; the 60 million milestone was in April, 2011). The official press release will probably come out with the new Nikkor 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 VR full frame lens, maybe this Friday.

Update: Nikkor 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 VR lens could be announced next week

The new Nikkor 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 VR full frame lens could be announced next week. I don’t have an exact date but June 15th keeps coming up. The D600 will probably not be announced with the new 24-85mm lens. Nikon may have another, not product related announcement as well.

Nikon’s canceled “comfort women” photo exhibition continues to make headlines

CNN published this video report on the canceled “comfort women” photo exhibition by Ahn Sehong that was supposed to take place in the Nikon Salon gallery in Tokyo. The exhibition was canceled by Nikon without any explanations.
