Nikon will start shipping the new 1 Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 VR lens next week

Nikon Japan announced that the new 1 Nikkor VR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 lens ($996.95) will start shipping on June 26th.

The new Nikon lens-only rebates are now live in the US

As previously reported, the Nikon lens-only rebates are now back in the US for 6 different Nikkor models. This offer will expire on June 14 and it will not be extended. The new savings are also already reflected on Adorama and Amazon: Amazon.com Widgets

Lens-only instant rebates are coming back next week for Father’s day

Nikon may bring back the popular “lens-only” rebates (no need to purchase a DSLR body in order to qualify) for six different Nikkor models for Father’s Day. The special is supposed to run from June 8-14th and will include the following lenses (with the corresponding instant savings):

Nikon to upgrade their remaining high end tele-lenses with fluorine coating

In the next 1-2 years Nikon is rumored to upgrade their remaining high end tele-lenses with fluorine coating currently only present in the Nikkor 800mm f/5.6 ($17,896.95) and the Nikkor 400mm f/2.8 ($11,996.95). The list of upgrade candidates includes the following lenses (most of them are currently back-ordered in the three major US stores):
