Nikon press event on April 4th?

I received an unconfirmed report that Nikon will have a press event on April 4th, 2011. Nikon D5100 and/or the new mirrorless camera system are expected. I will know more next week. I received this tip yesterday before the earthquake and I am not sure if the date will be changed.

Initial report from Nikon after the earthquake: no injured employees, factories not significantly affected

AP was told by Nikon’s UK spokeswoman that there are no injured employees and factories are not significantly affected after the major 8.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Japan: “However, we have been informed that the Nikon Corporation building and factories located in the north of Japan are, fortunately, not significantly affected. Importantly, no injured employees have been reported.” See [...]

Rumor: Nikon’s mirrorless camera will be targeting professionals, to be released in few weeks

Few weeks ago DSLR Magazine and Mirrorlessrumors already reported that the upcoming Nikon mirrorless camera will be targeted at professionals which contradicted what Nikon executives have said last year. It is possible that Nikon has changed their strategy and decided to go with a different solution.
