My dealer told me today that he’s checking in his first shipment of newly announced lenses and mine should ship either tomorrow or the next day. Dang, after watching that video I want one of those new 24mm F/1.4 in addition to the 85mm F/1.4….I ordered.

Glad we aren’t having to wait months to get these new lenses.. Thanks Nikon and thanks Nikon Rumors…

Nikon seems to be doing a great job of exceeding expectations with their shipment of these new lenses. Let’s hope they keep delivering the goods.

Bjørn Rørslett posted sample photos taken with the 85mm f/1.4 G on the nikongea_.com site quite some time ago.

The guy in the video looks like he almost slips the 85/1.4 from his hands while removing the plastic protection.

I got mine here in Singapore two hours ago – only TWO were available at my Camera store…
Ok using in the store with just 10 shots -
: Bokeh the same, little sharper in corner, and color is a fraction warmer on skin tone’s.
    – I’m happy anyways :)

It look good, but the minimum focusing is 0.85m, way to far !
0.45m would have be great !
I guess I’ll stick with my 105mm AF-S 2.8 (also great for portraits, and ULTRA sharp at 2.8)

It seems poeple are more excited to get the LAST gear than getting the best of what they already own. What a pity. You can have old zeiss lens for half of the price of this new nikon lens, and the picture is everything excepted cold .
