Nikon released firmware version 1.3 for the Coolpix P900 camera that fixes the issue with some Points of Interest (POI) in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan not being displaying correctly.
A reader informed me yesterday that Amazon received a new P900 shipment that was user to fulfill existing pre-orders. Third party resellers (with US warranty) currently have arriving time between November 18-23 for the P900:

Nikon continues to actively file lens patents for their Nikon 1 mirrorless system (1″ sensor). The latest patent application is for a Nikkor 9-30mm f/3.5-5.6 VR lens. Here are few more Nikon 1 lens patents filed in the past few months:
The French magazine Focus Numérique published a picture of a new Tokina SD 14-20mm f/2 IF DX lens designed for APS-C based cameras. I do not remember seeing anything online about such lens – it will probably be a replacement for the current Tokina AT-X 11-20mm f/2.8 PRO DX (pictured below for comparison) and will be announced during the CP+ show in February 2016:
You learn something new every day – I did not know that Nikon is also selling tripods – few different models are available at B&H Amazon and Adorama. Those are probably produced by third party and just rebranded with the Nikon logo. The small compact 2-way version is currently $15 off (38%).
I don’t think there will be anything interesting happening in the Nikon world by the end of the year – several new products will be announced for the CES and CP+ shows in early 2016 (January and February). Until then, expect more guest posts and deals/price drops – Nikon has no new products and the only way to generate extra revenue this quarter is by offering better deals.
