→ The Nikon D750 seems to be out of stock in many stores in Germany and the current wait time is 1-2 months. Really strange development on one of the best selling Nikon cameras (maybe a replacement is coming soon?).


→ New low price for the Nikon D810 (gray market): $1,899.


→ Another strange development – two days ago Nikon Japan introduced a new D5300 kit with the new AF-P 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens (the D5300 was announced in 2013 and is still available for sale).


→ Nikon received the “iF Design Award 2017” for five products.

New Nikon EN-EL18b battery to be announced soon, expect “surprises”

The Japanese website Nokishita reported on Twitter that Nikon will soon announce a new EN-EL18b battery. It is not clear which existing or new cameras will be compatible with this new battery, but the current EN-EL18a model is used in the top-of-the-line Nikon D5, D4s and D4 DSLRs.

New rumors: Nikon D820 with 46MP

→ There are a lot of fake listings/scams on Amazon (in this case: used DL cameras) – make sure you are purchasing from Amazon directly or from a reliable reseller.


→ Capture One ($299) 10.0.2 released with support for the Nikon 1 J5 camera (release notes).


→ Lensrental published their MTF test results for the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art lens ($1,199): “From an MTF standpoint, it’s better than any other 85 except the Otus, and it makes a very respectable showing against that fine lens” (they tested the Canon version).


→ £200 trade-in offer on the Nikon D810 in the UK.

→ Interesting: Laowa 105mm f/2 STF lens ($699) vs. Nikon 105mm f/1.4E ED lens ($2,196.95).
