Update on the Lexar XQD memory cards


I got the following quote from Lexar’s Director of Global Marketing, Joel Boquiren, regarding the current Lexar XQD memory card situation:

“Due to an unforeseen memory constraint from our XQD technology partners, we’ve had to delay production of the Lexar® Professional 2933x XQD™ 2.0 card until further notice. We are trying our best to minimize the delay as much as possible and are searching for a cost-effective plan for our XQD technology to perform at its best to meet our customer’s’ demand. In addition, we are working tirelessly on the future standard of CFexpress through our efforts in the Compact Flash Association.”

I was accredited to the Eurosatory 2018 “Land and Airland”, bi-annual, “Defence and Security International” Expo in Paris. On 10 June, I photographed the “Live Demonstrations” of French anti-terror teams: RAID, BRI and GIGN, as well as demonstrations by both the French Army’s ground forces and special forces and by the private, AENEAS, security force.

I thought your readers might like to see that among the now ubiquitous air and ground drones delivering photo/video to the military and police, the French Army reconnaissance team duo still use “traditional” Nikon body and telephoto lens combos.

There’s nothing like setting goals for yourself and then actually accomplishing them.  For every 100 ideas that I set for myself, I probably truly accomplish zero of them.  That’s why, when I finished hiking the Superior Hiking Trail (if you’re not ready for an AT or PCT adventure, this is a good start) I was almost a bit confused.  I stared out across the final overlook, from Minnesota into Canada, and realized there was no more trail to walk.  I was on the last paragraph of the guidebook and that was it.

My advice for anyone with an itch to hike, is simply this.  Pack as light as you can.

I do not take my own advice.
