Nikon to announce a new line of Nikkor cinema lenses

Nikon is rumored to announce an entirely new line of Nikkor cinema lenses. I do not have any details on the focal lengths. This could only be a development announcement, like the 28-135mm. I have seen some related patents in the past and will try to find them. This is a logical and expected development, reported several times in the past:

Last year I reported that Nikon will start making cinema lenses for Z-mount with T stops.
Keiji Oishi (RED’s new CEO) on a new line of Nikkor cinema lenses: “In the future, we would like to take these different approaches into consideration for an additional cinema lens lineup if we have a chance”.
From a recent interview with Nikon/RED: “Nikon is actively considering developing Nikkor cinema lenses”.
Amateur Photographer: “Nikon is looking at introducing CINE lenses”

Additional Nikon Z9II camera rumors

The new Z9II will not be a major update from the current Z9 – think about the Nikon D5->D6 update
It should be announced before the 2026 Olympics (February 2026)
It will have new RED video features (already reported)
Same sensor
EVF from the Nikon Z6III (5760k dot)
Content credentials (Nikon already mentioned that here and here)

The Nikon Nikkor Z 28-135mm f/4 PZ zoom lens could be officially released next week

The Nikon Nikkor Z 28-135mm f/4 PZ zoom lens is rumored to be officially released next week. Lately, Nikon tends to announce one product at a time. Given that the Nikon Nikkor Z 35mm f/1.2 S lens will be announced tonight, it makes complete sense for the 28-135mm cinema lens to be announced next week.
