Tamron has been rumored to introduce a new line of mirrorless lenses for Nikon Z-mount for a while – the last video where a Tamron rep confirmed the Z-mount lenses got removed from YouTube a few hours after my post was published.

New Nikkor Z 28mm and 40mm compact prime lenses are already listed on the latest Nikon Z lens roadmap. A reader sent me his visions/versions of the new Nikkor Z 28mm and 40mm f/2 mirrorless lenses (click for larger view):
“I’m a Nikon owner who’s eagerly awaiting the NEW Nikon Compact Lens line. Using the details on the previously leaked lens road map, a Z6II picture and other lens images as my primary building material, I cut and paste my take of what I believe the lens will look like. The F/2 aperture spec is purely wishful. I put this together for fun. I have no industry sources. Just thought it looked good and wanted to share.”

In their latest press release, Meyer Optik Görlitz confirmed that their lenses will be available also for Nikon Z-mount:
“In addition, new versions of the famous Biotars are currently being developed in various focal lengths. As well as versions of the existing lenses for the latest camera mounts (Canon R and Nikon Z). The exact dates of those releases are difficult to specify due to the current situation, but will definitely all be in the second half of this year.”
