Now also the Nikon Z6 camera is listed as discontinued in Japan

The Z7 was listed as discontinued a month ago and now also the Z6 camera is listed as “old product” on the official Nikon Japan website:

The Nikon Z6 is however not yet listed in the discontinued section of the website but I am sure this will happen in a few days:

In the US the Nikon Z6 lens kit is still in stock at B&H (body only is listed as discontinued) and is completely removed at Adorama.

No information about a new Nikon product announcement in the next few days

You have probably already noticed all the latest teasers, leaks, and rumors over at PhotoRrumors. Many photo companies will announce new products in the next few days (see this incomplete list) in preparation for the holiday shopping season. I have not received any reliable information about Nikon making any new product announcements in the next few days. This could mean only two things:

  • We will see a “development announcement” (just a press release)
  • Nikon will not announce any new products in the next few days

Development announcements are very hard to “predict” becuase they are not linked to a real product – this is one of the reasons why Nikon increased them in the last few years.

So stay tuned and hope that I am wrong 🙂
