Nikon patent adds low-pass filter in the lens

Nikon’s patent 2012128155 filed in Japan is for implementing an optical low-pass filter (OLPF) in the lens for optimum performance and improved resolving power. The low-pass filter is used to prevent/reduce moiré patterns in images. The patent describes a 300mm f/2.8 lens with OLPF.

Nikon 18-55mm f/4-5.6 lens patent for a mirrorless APS-C camera

Nikon’s 18-55mm f/4-5.6 lens patent 2012123118 appears to be for a mirrorless APS-C camera. The Nikon 1 system has a sensor smaller than APS-C. Maybe Nikon is working on a camera similar to the Pentax K-01? Patents do not guarantee new product introductions, but almost every new lens fr0m the past few years has been patented first.

Nikon files patent for in-camera panning feature

Nikon filed a patent 201294984 in Japan for a new panning feature that will combine a high shutter speed image of the main subject and a low shutter speed image of the background:

New patent indicates the possibility of a Nikon 1 mirrorless lens with f/0.7 aperture

A new Nikon patent (201298706) filed in Japan indicates the possibility to produce Nikon 1 mirrorless lens with f/0.7 aperture. Nikon was able to achieve f/0.7 by optimizing the aperture diameter, the flange back length and image circle. One of the given examples in this patent was for a 32mm f/1.2 lens.
