We still don’t know what body will be used for the upcoming Nikon Z high-speed camera (Z6/Z8/Z9?)

We still don’t know for sure what body will be used for the upcoming Nikon Z high-speed mirrorless camera. The latest rumors point to a new high-speed camera with the autofocus system of the Z8/Z9 and a lower resolution (24-28MP?) full-frame sensor. Three different options are possible for the body design:

  • Nikon Z6 (basically a Nikon Z6 III)
  • Nikon Z8 (not sure what the nomenclature will be here)
  • Nikon Z9 (Z9H?)

The Nikon Zf is out of the question here because the camera was just recently announced and it is still out of stock at most stores. With the upcoming 2024 CES (January 9-12) and 2024 CP+ (February 22 – 25) show, Nikon will have more than one new product announcement in the first quarter of 2024, so stay tuned for details.
