  • 24.5 megapixel full frame sensor
  • Shooting films with aperture priority
  • 3D tracking
  • Subject tracking
  • EXPEED 7 processor
  • Tiltable and rotatable monitor
  • Continuous shooting at up to 30 fps
  • two memory card slots

Nikon Z f – Modern camera for retro fans

The Nikon Z f ‘s classic retro design is reminiscent of the legendary Nikon FM2. Adopting the dials, shutter release and Nikon logo from the 1970s, the camera exudes a nostalgic charm. The dials are made of precision-milled brass and embedded in a dust-tight and drip-resistant magnesium alloy housing. This not only ensures a high-quality appearance, but also a long-lasting construction. In addition, the Nikon Z f offers the option of choosing from six elegant exterior colors to adapt the camera to your personal style.

Technology from the Nikon Z 8 and Z 9

The Nikon Z f not only sets visual accents. Equipped with a 24.5 megapixel full-frame sensor and the same EXPEED 7 image processing processor as the Nikon Z 9, the Nikon Z f delivers low-noise images and high sensitivity up to ISO 64,000 or up to ISO 204,800 with the expansion activated. This makes it possible to take photos even in weak ambient light. The combination of the internal image stabilizer on the sensor and digital VR ensures sharp images in demanding situations. Nikon is relying on a new focus field VR, in which the blur is reduced, especially around the focus field.

When it comes to the autofocus of the Z f, Nikon adopts the capabilities of the Nikon Z 8 . This means that the Z f recognizes nine types of subjects and, thanks to improved tracking performance in subject recognition, can reliably keep them in focus continuously. The number of focus points and the detection range have been expanded to improve focusing performance on distant or moving subjects.

For action-packed shots in burst mode, the Nikon Z f offers an impressive frame rate of up to 30 frames per second at full resolution.

Many more highlights

The Nikon Z f comes with a variety of other functions. The Z f is the first Nikon camera to support film shooting with aperture priority. Only the exposure time is set manually. The camera then selects the appropriate aperture automatically. The Z f is also the first camera in the Z series to support a touch Fn function without having to take your eye off the viewfinder. The display is tiltable and rotatable for the first time in a Z full-frame mirrorless camera.

Other highlights include the two new Picture Control modes “Neutral; monochrome” and “Deep tones; monochrome” for black and white images. The Nikon Z f films videos in 4K (UHD) 10-bit H.265 – without interruption for up to 125 minutes. In addition, the Nikon Z 9 adopted the ability to adjust the ISO sensitivity in 1/6 EV increments and to display a red frame during movie recording. This also makes the Z f attractive for videographers. There are two card slots available for storage: one for SD and one for microSD cards.
