Nikon Speedlight SB-500 flash orders temporary suspended, Speedlight SB-5000 available for purchase


Nikon Japan issued a new press notice indicating that orders of the Speedlight SB-500 flash are temporarily suspended. The Nikon Speedlight SB-5000 flash should be available for purchase.

Most Nikon Speedlight flashes have been for a while and are currently out of stock in the US (check Adorama and B&H).

As I already mentioned last year, I think Nikon is done with developing flash units for their cameras and has already outsourced that task to third-party manufacturers:
