Official announcement: April 4th or April 6th (±1 day)
Expected to start shipping in May
A pro-level lens with a “spectacular” performance
Optically as good as the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 800mm f/5.6E FL ED VR lens for F-mount
Price: around $6,000 based on a leak from China (keep checking the B&H listing for updates in the next few days)
Weight: 2.3 kg (half the weight of the F-mount version and slightly heavier than the Nikkor 500mm f/5.6E PF lens)
The lens is already in serial production

Nikon Europe may also have a teaser for the new lens on Instagram (not sure yet):
