There is a new firmware update version 1.2.0 for the Viltrox 85mm f/1.8 Z mirrorless lens (the first autofocus Z-mount lens from a third party). The new firmware contains improved lens compatibility.
CameraLabs recently published their review of the Viltrox 85mm f/1.8 Z mirrorless lens – here is their verdict:
Good points:
- Very good resolution – if focused optimally.
- Good Bokeh.
- Low vignetting (through lens profile).
- Low price.
Bad points:
- Focus consistency is mediocre.
- Strong focus shift.
- Field curvature mars performance on flat or distant subjects.
- Longitudinal colour aberrations.
- Low resistance against flare and glare.
- No weather sealing.
- Distortions are not completely corrected by built-in lens profile.
