Nikkei: Nikon to announce a new mid-level mirrorless camera priced at around $900

In the past few months, I had several blog posts about Nikon’s upcoming cheaper mirrorless camera (see here and here).

Nikkei also just reported that Nikon is going to announce a new mid-level mirrorless camera as early as this year. The price is going to be around 100,000 yen ($920):

“Nikon is also in the 2019 fiscal year, to introduce a new product of the mirror-less camera of mid-priced. The company is in the product corresponding to a sister machine such as a luxury model “Z7″ which was launched in 2018 autumn, use the same interchangeable lens. The preceding 200,000 to general consumers than 400,000 yen of the model is expected to set in easy to 100,000 yen price to pick up. There is an aim to develop user demand for existing non-lovers.” (Google translation)

Update: The Nikkei article says mid-level mirrorless will be “one one hundred thousand yen level” – so maybe between 100,000 to 190,000 yen (between $900 and $1,700).
