  • Selecting Firmware version in the SETUP MENU would not display “C X.XX L X.XXX”.
  • About 4 seconds of static could be heard on audio recorded with external HDMI recorders during movie live view
  • Exposure compensation would fail to produce the desired results if a negative value was selected when NEF (RAW) images were processed using the NEF (RAW) processing option in the RETOUCH MENU.
  • February 29th would sometimes not display correctly in leap years.

A bit off topic here, but two things I hope for on a D7300:
    – higher res metering sensor (for improved focus tracking)
    – auto AF fine tune

    • Max

      I thought the 7xxx series had fine-tune??

      • Nikita

that’s AUTO AF fine tune, like D5/D500

        • Max

          oh.

      • psv

a good firmware update can do that,

Any Nikonhacker up to porting this firmware to the D7100?

    • imaginfinity

Why – I wasn’t aware that the D7100 had these problems?

  • j45

Perhaps they could improve the low light level AF. A friend has the 7200 and also the Canon 70D and says the Canon is much superior for low light AF.

    • AlphaT

What lenses did your friend use for both cameras?

      • j45

He uses the Nikkor 18-200mm and the 70D is the 18-135 kit lens.
AP-S S with the Nikon – 9-point focus mode with the Canon
He says Canon finds focus in low light situation, where Nikon has failed.

Doesnt suprise me. Theres something mysterious going on with the AF of 7100 and 7200 on some bit demanding situations. Bit low contrast situations make 7200 struggle, which was not supposed to happen. Actually when i bought my 7200 . its AF was stellar for some time. Its like something is happening during time that affects AF performance. I rocket blowed the AF sensors area with no change. Maybe some other kind of dirt on them? have no idea

No particular need to update then?

  • psv

any one already update it , no new problems with 3rd party grips or batteries ???
