“I AM COMING” and “THE BIG HANDS” sites updated

Both iamcomings.com and thebighands.com were indeed Nikon's marketing campaigns. Both sites are updated with new content - the big hands now hold a Nikon 1 camera, the comings site has a promotional video (that doesn't load).

    Those hands look a bit creepy . . .

the video on the comings site is the I AM NIKON video from the nikon-asia site (nothing special)

I agree it appears to be nothing special. And it did take some time and several attempts for it to load for me. But specifically the video shows a photographer shooting with a D3_, taking pics of natural ice sculptures. Can’t figure out what the text is t the bottom over the video, right at the end.

    Here’s the video on YouTube : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ST2KGT1gbc

It load a lot better there.

  • One More Thought

I still wonder about the legitimacy of the “iamcomings.com” site; I still think it could be a fake.
That video is an old marketing video from Nikon…

  • Up $#!t’s creek

“the comings site has a promotional video (that doesn’t load).”

    ahh, the irony.

At least nikon managed to find a way to keep us distracted while most of their product are not purchasable.

At this point, I would much rather have one of the gigantic “cameras” used in this promo than the real thing. (Wouldn’t that be an interesting conversation piece.)

  • Bruce

    “I AM COMING” = ANTI-CLIMAX

  • Mehdi Moeqrie

    What about this:

“iamcomings” could be the plural of “iamcoming”….

Maybe some other announcements will use the same address ?

    Ya ya i know… i’m dreaming …

  • paf

the comings site has a promotional video (that doesn’t load).

    ….made with the new camera?

    WIN!

  • tom

    Crap….. :-(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((
want Nikon d700 replacemant not that….’cmon nikon do it you CANon

  • Robert

Nikon, now that you came and got on with your porn ad, can we get a d700 replacement so we dslr users can come also?
    Not asking much…..

  • http://www.rgbphotos.info/ Giovanni B.

Quite disappointed by the two new Nikon. The sensor is too small. Uff!

  • yo

they forgot the tile on the right bottom. lol @ nikon.

  • kyoshinikon

I am to busy Cumming to release a D800?

  • broxibear

It was all a bit of a shambles really.
Why didn’t they put the “big hands” idea out a few days before the announcement instead of a few hours?…that way you’d have some sort of build up to the final event ?

  • Bruce

I don’t know about “Big Hands” but folks better have big necks because without an articulated LCD screen taking shots with the camera held at arms length above the head is going to make composition and steady focus a bit of a challenge. Nikon needs to fire the ad agency responsible for this nonsense.

  • 123

Those aren’t “big hands” it is just an average person holding the puny crap nikon is releasing!

  • Mark V

I hope they didn’t pay huge sums of money for this marketing campaign and if they did they should be asking for their money back.

  • Pit

    What a crap…

  • LeftCoastKenny

    What an ugly ad.
