image: wikipedia

Update: this price decrease is basically an adjustment based on the exchange rate.

For our fellow Canadians – the rumor is that Nikon Canada will decrease their prices on Monday. If true, I will have the new Nikon price list online on Monday (November 16, 2009).

NR rating system: 75% probability

If Nikon lowers the prices in Canada, does that mean that they will lower them in the US?

That’s awesome eh! Go Laughs! I mean, Go Leafs! CDN $ is at $0.93 US so I would hope prices go down! Thanks admin!

Oh, I wish prices would come down like this in Japan. You all can complain, but the Japanese consumer always pays a heavy price for their gear.

Sorry Nikon, you drained my blood last year and introduced nothing I’m interested in this year.

Readers may not realize Nikon Canada never offer rebates and their accessory prices are typically 40% higher than the US.

Henry’s Canada still has the D700 priced at the same price point ($3069).

Excuse me while i go back to clicking the refresh button on that page ;)

Okay. Here it is. I copied a bunch of prices last night from Nikon.ca and just again checked this afternoon. (Just because some of the lenses have no rebates does not mean that they won’t be updated later, but the fact that other lenses within that same category have been discounted tells me that’s pretty much it for now.) Oh well. I’ve sold all my Nikon gear and am now the proud owner of a Sony a850. Too little too late guys. So far, from high iso to bright sunlight scene, the a850 is a cracker….this coming from a previous D300 owner.

I may return one day, ’till then, I bid you A Dieu!!

Murphy’s law says that Nikon will now release the flash I’ve been waiting for for over a year….the SB-700. I’m doing you guys a favor. Now that I’m no longer a Nikon guy (and don’t get me wrong, Nikon makes kick a$$ equipment) they will announce a bunch of gear I was waiting for.

I was kidding. I’m playing with Murphy’s law’s mind…trying to get some gear rumors going but it’s not working.

Big deal…have you seen the exchange rate? I live 60 minutes from Montreal and I would pay MORE for a body than I can here…even if they lowered the price 20%

When will we see a price drop in US??? This really suxxx when I see Nikon is paying more attention/love to other countries!
