NPS claims no new announcement on November 8th
Last week NPS Holland sent out an email about an event on November 8th. A few hours later they sent another email stating that the initial message should not interpreted as a new product announcement. The surprise would be a “world famous” speaker. We have eyes and ears at this event.

If there is no new product annoucment, then I guess it won’t be until Feb 2009…
I hope that worth the waiting…
(DSLR with highly improved Movie Mode (image and sound qualities and rates, Mic-in Stereo jack), sensor resolution, etc., etc., etc…)
“The surprise would be a “world famous” speaker.” What does that suppose to mean?
This is the message I got, no more info at that point.
Nikon’s getting into audio components? Hope it’s not Bose.
Not getting into audio components by itself, but Movie/Video recording requires audio
And that feature on DSLRs will grow up (and improve) geometrically, you can bet on it.
I heard rumors about a GPS tracking device for Nikons DSLRs today at Photokina. Not 3rd party but from Nikon themselves.
Nikon announced that external device together with the Nikon D90 few weeks ago. Send some pics from the Nikon stand if you have any.
Arno Nym: Did you hear (or ask) something about D800 ? or any new DSLR? or any date for announcements?
Thanks
*cough cough* dream’s on, buddy. nikon already announced their last dslr for this year…
In one way I would like the new DSLR announcement within this year.
But in the other hand, if Nikon is working on new designs, and announces them next year (hopefully Feb) then it has more chances to include the features they have to include or improve.
So… If I was Nikon I would think very well and review my own designs…
Because designing and production take time, and upcoming competition DSLRs are going to (and already do) challenge in many areas.
Didn’t the BIG ad explicitly state that they’d tell us next month? Remember?
“We really shouldn’t say anymore, but we will. Next month!”
Rangefinder magazine did not release anything new in the next issue.
It has nothing to do with Rangefinder mag. I’m quoting the ad, it just happened to be in that particular magazine.
It’s a Nikon ad, so it’s Nikon that said they’d tell us more next month.
I wish I could answer your question, no news/updates so far.
