First pictures of the upcoming Tamron 70-210mm f/4 Di VC USD lens

Tamron will soon announce a new 70-210mm f/4 Di VC USD full frame lens for DSLR cameras. I am not convinced that the Tamron teaser from a few days ago was for this lens.

Update: the new Tamron 70-210mm f/4 Di VC USD lens will be announced on February 22nd:

Nikon D850 is Map Camera’s top selling camera for 2017 and January 2018

I will just post this here since some readers have been questioning my previous reports… yes, it is from only one store from only one market but it’s just confirms what I have been reporting here on the blog for months – the major Japanese store Map Camera just published their top selling cameras for January 2018:

  1. Nikon D850
  2. Sony α7R III
  3. Panasonic LUMIX G9 PRO
  4. Fujifilm X100F
  5. Canon EOS 6D Mark II
  6. Canon EOS 5D Mark IV
  7. Olympus Tough TG-5
  8. Olympus PEN E-PL 8
  9. Fujifilm X-T2
  10. Fujifilm X-T20

If I understand the translation correctly, the Nikon D850 was also their top selling camera for 2017 followed by the Sony a7r3:

Nikon D850 called “popularity immovable from last year’s release” became the top. Sony, which introduced the high spec machines continuously with α9 in 2017, ranked second in α7 R III.

Update #1: The price comparison site kakaku.com, which includes a large number of camera retailers, including Map Camera, also has the D850 at the top of their rankings in the camera category:

Update #2: Here’s an overlay of Amazon sales ranking from camelcamelcamel, which I believe tracks rankings daily based on the “Camera & Photo” category on Amazon (blue=D850, red=A7Riii):
