Zeiss has not announced any new photography lenses in over 4 years now, but they are still trying to generate some sales by offering up to $1,000 off on Zeiss Milvus lenses for Nikon F-mount (see previous Milvus coverage):
Check your Nikon Z8 camera for separated/broken strap lugs – this is an email I received from a reader:
“The only info I can give you is that Nikon informs the distributers to test the bodies. Aka yank the lugs with a strap connected. Kinda barbaric I guess. The distributers weren’t happy about any of it. I also heard Nikon intends to test units for this flaw specifically when they come back for the recall.”

Nikon released firmware update version 1.41 for the Nikon Zfc camera. Here are the changes from “C” version 1.40 to 1.41:
Tamron announced the development of a new 35-150mm f/2-2.8 Di III VXD (model A058) full-frame mirrorless lens for Nikon Z mount – the world’s first mirrorless zoom lens with a maximum aperture of f/2 (previously rumored here). The lens is expected to be released this fall. The price of the Z-mount version was not announced. The Sony version of this lens costs $1,899 (the Sony version was announced in 2021).

I already reported that Nikon will announce a new full-frame mirrorless camera in the August-September timeframe with most likely a new retro design (Nikon Zf?). The still unanswered question is: what sensor will be inside the new camera? Here are the obvious options:
The price of the new cameras is rumored to be in the $2,000-$2,500 range. Autofucs should be improved from the Z6II/Z7II. This is all I have for now. If you have any details on the upcoming camera, you can contact me anonymously here.
