There is a very good chance the rumored Nikon Z9II camera will be delayed further.
I have heard various reasons for the delay, from major RED integration to the need for special electronic components that are currently either too scarce or too expensive. Everything points to the Nikon Z9II offering features not available from the competition once released.
My interpretation of all of this is that Nikon initially planned a simple Z9 upgrade for 2025 (previously reported here) and then changed their plans to do a deeper RED integration in the Z9II, which requires significantly more time to complete.
As I already mentioned before, announcing the Nikon Z9II camera later will also mean more upgrades – the longer we wait, the better the Nikon Z9II will be.
