Breaking news: Nikon is rumored to announce a new Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II lens (Mark II)

I have been sitting on this info for months because I refused to believe that Nikon would replace one of the “Holly Trinity” lenses after only 6 years  (the original model was announced in February 2019see previous coverage).

The current 24-70mm f/2.8 lens is not on the list of upcoming price increases and currently has a $300 rebate. The official announcement of the Mark II lens should be coming very soon – maybe on or around August 26th? To be clear, I do not have an exact announcement date.

Apparently, the Nikkor Z 70-200mm f/2.8 S lens (now $400 off) could also be replaced in the near future, but I am not sure about the exact timeline.

I am not sure about the Nikkor Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S lens (now $450 off) – I already reported about a new/upcoming/rumored wide-angle lens (could be a prime lens or a wide-angle zoom with a slower aperture, not sure):

What to expect next from Nikon?

Both the Nikkor Z 70-200mm and 14-24mm f/2.8 S lenses are on the list of upcoming price increases – maybe an indication that they will not be replaced with the 24-70mm:

Another Nikon price increase coming in the US on September 1st
