REVEALED: FRONT-RUNNERS IN CONTEST TO FIND 2025’s FUNNIEST WILDLIFE IMAGES & VIDEOS
London, June 2nd 2025. With only ONE MONTH to go before the 2025 competition closes for entries, the Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards are absolutely delighted to reveal a selection of its best brand-new entries to date, including a tiny waving dragon, a rather fetching rhino and a couple of mudskippers performing a duet. Ok. Now we’ve got your attention!
The funniest wildlife photography competition in the world has already received over a thousand entries from around the world – catching some of wildlife’s most hilarious moments on camera. This year, the competition organisers are releasing a sneak preview of some of the brilliant shots that the awards are famed for to inspire both professional and amateur photographers to enter their own images before the closing date of June 30th.
The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards was co-founded in 2015 by professional photographers Paul Joynson-Hicks MBE and Tom Sullam to create a competition that focused on the lighter side of wildlife photography and would help promote the conservation of wildlife and habitats through humour. Each year the competition supports a sustainable conservation organisation and once again Comedy Wildlife are delighted to be working with Whitley Fund for Nature (WFN) a UK charity that supports conservation leaders working in their home countries across the Global South. Over 30 years it has channelled £23 million to more than 220 conservationists in 80 countries and we are really chuffed to be able to shine a spotlight on the amazing work they do and hope you will join us in supporting them.
Stefan Maier, Nikon Europe Senior General Manager Marketing says: “It’s such an honour to be working with the Comedy Wildlife team again this year – fantastic partners who share our commitment to generating vital awareness for conservation efforts through the power of photography. With only one month to go to enter the Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards, we’ve loved seeing all the hilarious entries so far and look forward to seeing even more entries over the next month”
As usual, the competition is open to the public and still free to enter with some jaw-dropping prizes to be won – with the top shot winning a once in a lifetime safari in the Maasai Mara in Kenya, with the wonderful Alex Walker’s Serian and a handmade trophy from The Wonder Workshop in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Other prizes include a Z50II + 16-50 VR kit for the Junior Category winner and a Z6III + 24-120mm kit for the Young Photographer Category winner, both courtesy of our brilliant headline partners Nikon. All category winners will receive a fabulous camera bag, courtesy of our sponsor ThinkTANK.
And we are delighted to announce that once again, back due to popular demand and thanks to the wonderful team at Nikon, we will be hosting another fabulous exhibition from 10-14th December of all the 2025 Award Finalists at the Gallery@Oxo, London, where the Winners will also be announced.
