I first reported about the Nikon Z50 II camera back in July:
I expected the Nikon Z50 II to be announced before the end of 2024:
Later, I narrowed down the announcement timeframe to September/October 2024:
With the latest Nikon Italy event and the placeholders on several Nikon official websites, we all knew that we were getting really close to the official release:
Nikon Italy has scheduled a “Nikon Digital Event – Discover the News” for tonight
We now also have the first discounts on the Nikon Z50:
So, everything I have seen so far points to a new Nikon Z50 II camera announcement tonight – here is what to expect:
- Updated body design
- Expeed 7
- Flippy screen like the Z6 III
- USB-C
- Will use the same Nikon EN-EL25 battery
- Same 20.9MP DX-format CMOS sensor as the Z50 (not confirmed yet, hopefully my info is wrong and they will introduce a new sensor – Fuji for example, is already using a 40MP sensor in their latest X100VI camera)
- No battery grip will be available for the Z50 II
- Compatible with the new Nikon Imaging Cloud
Update – Z50II officially announced:
Nikon Z50 II camera officially announced: “superior AF performance on a par with that of the Z9”
We already have two new cameras registered in Asia (the second one is a replacement for the P1000):
