Sigma did not announce its first Z-mount lens today

Sigma did not announce its first Z-mount lens today – they only released a new Sigma 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG DN OS Sports lens for Sony E-mount and Leica L-mount. Of course, it is very easy for some to make comments and predictions after the official announcement (Monday morning quarterback). I went back to my previous posts where I clearly reported that I expect Sigma to announce new Z-mount lenses in 2023. The last report came from Nokishita via Digicame-info and indicated that the new 60-600mm lens will come together with a new Z-mount lens:

“Rumors are circulating online about Sigma’s next E-mount new product and Z-mount entry.”

It is unknown which will be announced first: the first Sigma E-mount lens to be released in 2023, or Sigma’s entry into Nikon Z-mount lenses”

I just wrongly assumed that both new products will be announced together and obviously this did not happen. My exact words were “The first Sigma mirrorless lens for Nikon Z-mount could be announced next week:

Sigma’s CEO confirms the possibility of making mirrorless lenses for Nikon Z-mount

Nokishita and Digicame-info have an almost perfect history of predicting/reporting upcoming products, so the first Sigma lens for Nikon Z is coming this year and this has already been decided a long time ago.
