The Sigma Contemporary lens is lighter, cheaper and with a slightly simplified lens design compared to the Sport model that is almost twice as expensive:
- Sport: 24 elements in 16 groups with 2 FLD and 3 SLD coated lenses. All metal construction, 105mm filter threads and weather sealed.
- Contemporary: 20 elements in 14 groups with 1 FLD and 2 SLD lenses. Plastic composite construction, 95mm filter threads, not weather sealed.
