this video is somewhat satisfying… I still don’t know why.

They should be usefull and at least provide us with the numbers: how much kilo/pressure was needed to crush it. But i’m not sure if they can do that with their machine… which clearly had zero problem crushing it

    • Steve Perry

I agree – it really is oddly satisfying. More at full speed then slow mo, but still satisfying.

      • Spy Black

Yeah, I guess it makes up for all the left point focus errors, sensor spots, and glare bands…

        • Steve Perry

          Ahh, that’s why I enjoyed it 🙂

        • silmasan

… greenish LCDs, hot pixels, shutter issues, price rises …

      • Duncan Dimanche

yeah full speed all day 🙂

    • Patrick O’Connor

“I think we can broke it more” 🙂

      • Michiel953

Just like you (and me, but you beat me to it) to start nitpicking about the guy’s use of the English language.

        • Patrick O’Connor

I wasn’t nitpicking or laughing at him. I thought it was funny. 🙂

          • Michiel953

            It was!

    • silmasan

      Should try with a D5.

      …OK, a D2h will do. Or a bricked D3.

  • Pcsram

I’d like to see one of the “built like a tank” lenses or “can hammer nails with” camera bodies going through this. So much for “built like a tank”!

    • LordArklon

Well, tanks get crushed by hydraulic presses, so there goes that theory.

      • Michiel953

Exactly. “Built like a toothbrush”. Toothbrushes can be crushed as well. Takes some effort though.

      • Max

I would like to see that.

  • Michiel953

These guys must lead an exhilarating (subsidized?) life.

  • whisky

    the ultimate nutcracker: one
    canon coolpix: zero

    • silmasan

      You mean… Sony coolpix?

      • whisky

        i’m pretty sure he said “cun-on”. 🙂

        • silmasan

          “Kwa-non”! 🙂

I was just wondering about brand awareness for the general population… Nikon ='(

  • doge

    so dumb

  • BPhoto

    Stupid is as stupid does

    • longzoom

      Indeed…

  • Gerdy

    Why ????

  • vousplaisentezouquoi

I want to see the D5 doing that!!

  • catinhat

Is this the recommended application for Coolpix P300… or for hydraulic press?

  • Ordinary Citizen

    “Press here” …….

  • Max

I bet the sensor in there is small enough to have survived.

  • Caballo Reindo

    This video is completely useless.

  • Hmm. The only thing “sticking” from this video is that I need an hydraulic press ^^.

  • Jon

Wow, very impressed with the quality and robust nature of Nikon wriststraps in such extreme conditions…..!

  • Ordinary Citizen

I’m not sure this is what they meant by “press the shutter button” ….

  • rainr

Did anyone notice that the camera was at absolute peace during and after being crushed?

  • sefopo

What the guy didn’t show was the damaged press and his face beeing fired by his boss…

  • James Hendrix

A new lick of paint and that camera will be like new.
