Nikon confirms the Z9 camera will get ProRes RAW

After DJI and Kinefinity removed the ProRes RAW feature from their products, there were some speculations/guesses online that Nikon will do the same. Those “rumors” were wrong – Ymcinema has a nice article on this topic:

“After the cancellation of the ProRes RAW feature in the DJI Ronin 4D, Nikon Z9 buyers started to worry that the same will happen in the Z9. Many of the potential buyers have decided to sit and wait with the decision of buying the Z9. Also, many of them are sure that it will happen the same to the Z9 (elimination of the ProRes RAW feature) and thus the price of the Z9 will be reduced dramatically, just like in the Ronin 4D.”

The new Canon RF 800mm f/5.6 lens is priced at $17,000, what price to expect for the Nikkor Z 800mm f/6.3?

Nikon did not announce any new products at the CP+ show in Japan, but we can now guesstimate the price of the Nikkor Z 800mm f/6.3 after Canon announced their mirrorless RF 800mm f/5.6 L IS USM lens and priced it at $17,000.

For example, the Canon RF 400mm f/2.8 is priced at $12,000 while the Nikkor Z 400mm f/2.8 is $14,000.

Given the different apertures on the 800mm lenses (f/5.6 for Canon vs. f/6.3 for Nikon), my guess is that the Nikkor Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S lens will be priced between $17, 000 – $18,000. What is your guess?

I usually post reviews only in the first few days/weeks after a new camera or lens is officially released. I have already mentioned a few video reviews of the new Nikon NIKKOR Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S mirrorless lens for Z-mount and now we also have the first “real” review from Camera Labs, which still remains one of my favorite reviews outlet in this age of clickbait and influencer BS. Here is what Camera Labs had to say:
