CIPA March 2025 stats


CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association in Japan) published their latest camera production data (orange: 2025, black: 2024, blue: 2023):

Narrative: March 2025

CIPA has predicted 6.66m ILCs, 1.1.92m compacts and 10.56m lenses for calendar 2025, a modest increase over 2024. We’re currently projecting between 5.389m and 7.184m ILC units.

For the first three months of 2025, DSLR’s are down 11% in units and 17% in shipped value, Mirrorless units are up 13% in units and 8% in shipped value, Compacts are up 15% in units and 35% in shipped value, lenses for smaller than 35mm sensors are up 11% in units andshipped value, and lenses for 35mm and larger sensors are flat in units and up 2% in shipped value.
